A visit on any kind social media lately will show things like “#sidequests” or “side quest ideas for 2026 summer.” But that does not explain all there is to do locally. There are plenty of places to spend summer around here, if one knows where to look.

Alley Cats (Burleson) is a very popular attraction, with easily accessible activities for many days of boredom. It has an arcade, batting, bowling, laser tag, mini golf, go-karts and pickle ball. There is a promotion going on called “Best Day Ever Pass” which includes bowling, mini golf, laser tag, go karts and a $10 game card for only $40 per person.

There are two options for biking and hiking, both in Burleson. One near Mountain Valley is the Lost Oak bike and hike trails which is accessible to the public and a good easy choice for a daily dose of exercise. The other is the Chisenhall Trails which is near the Burleson police station. Both have views that are normally very out of place around here and they’re free. Anyone and everyone can go, as long as the trails are taken care of.

Jurassic Zone is a recreation pastime that has had many names, but only one location. Located across the street from the Burleson High School, it’s an affordable entertainment option that could always be planned last minute. Activities include: mini golf and arcade games. https://thejurassiczone.com/
Pirates Cove is very well known in Joshua, whether people went as children or are working as life guards during the summer, many are very familiar. It is a bit farther than the other places but worth the hypothetical sit in traffic. With water slides to spare, arcade games, VR experiences, and an indoor playground, Pirates Cove has activities for everyone. There is a season pass deal going on right now: 20% off the usual prices as well as 15% off family pack passes.

Calling all shopaholics: welcome to summer where, if one isn’t afraid to spend some cash, a blast can be had. With the Gateway Station Shopping Center only about 20 minutes away from school, it’s hardly a difficulty. Stores there include, T.J. Maxx, Kohl’s, Academy, Barnes and Noble and much more. Many restaurants are around for whatever vibe one is feeling for the day such as the Cotton Patch, Red Lobster and Olive Garden.
