The early 2000s was when more video focused media began to shine. Companies began to work on new movies, television shows, and video game ideas that had never been seen before. Industries began to work on hyper-realistic imagery to change the way people saw images on television. To put it simply, the video entertainment industry was changing for the better.
It has been about 15 years since the end of the early 2000s and the different types of media have grown and greatly improved, but they should not be left in the past. At least a little remembrance of these should remain in hearts to keep it “alive.” This can be accomplished by learning something about the specific media, watching the media, or using the media itself.

Movies:
“The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring”
Released to the public in 2007, “Fellowship of the Ring” was directed by Peter Jackson and received a 92% on rotten tomatoes. The story follows a Hobbit who sets out on a journey, with eight other companions, to remove a certain ring from existence and save their world from a man by the name of Dark Lord Auron. “Shrek”
Released in theaters in 2001, “Shrek” was directed by Andrew Adamson and received an 88% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie shows the main character, Shrek, as he deals with a group of fairy-tale creatures who had been exiled by a certain lord. TV Shows:
“The Office”
“The Office” began its broadcasting journey in 2005 and lasted into 2013. The team behind the series, including creators Greg Daniels, Ricky Gervais, and Stephen Merchant, produced over 180 episodes and received a 9.0 out of 10.0 rating from IMDb. The show covers a group of office workers who have to go through their normal workday while dealing with problems with other coworkers. “Lost”
This series began in 2004 ended in 2010. The show’s creators J.J. Abrams, Jeffrey Lieber, and Damon Lindelof, and the team behind it made over 120 episodes and received a 8.3 rating from IMDb. The basis for the show is as follows: A plane takes off from an airport with its passengers and, after some time, crashes into a deserted island due to an unknown disturbance. With no way to call for help, the passengers work together to hopefully survive this occurrence and go back home. Video Games:
“Halo Two”
Released onto the shelves of stores in 2004, “Halo Two” was directed by Jason Jones and received a 8.7 from IMDb. The game stars the main character, Master Chief, as an Alien organization invades Earth. “Guitar Hero: World Tour”
Going onto shelves in 2008, “Guitar Hero: World Tour” was directed by Brian Bright and received a 7.4 rating from IMDb. The game’s story follows the player as they form a band. After doing so, the player begins to play performance after performance while gaining fame along the way. The major difference between this particular game and others is how the player controls the game. The player(s) is given plastic instruments: guitars, microphones, and drums.
